Audrey - firsts and grandparents

We got to come home from the hospital last night.  Had a decent first night at home.  No milk coming in yet and she's still more interested in sleeping for now.  Have to go back to hospital tomorrow for bilirubin level.

Baby Taylor is here!!!

Audrey Jennifer Taylor has arrived!  Weighing 7lbs 6oz, 18.5 inches long.  Holy crap it was painful, but relatively quick in the grand scheme of things.  She is doing great, a bit sleepy, got her bath already, not interested in nursing yet.

Thanks for all the well wishes!  Both sets of grandparents were here for the event, thanks for coming :) 

Oh, and they continued working on the roof today.

Week 7 - Monday

They started putting the roof on today.  Apparently the head framer suffered a knee injury this weekend and won't be working.  Hoping that doesn't set us back, but probably will.  Also rained a little today.

And we planted our garden this weekend.  Hope the weather stays warm and our little experiment grows.

And I'm still pregnant...

Week 6 - Friday

The rain held off most of the day today.

Week 6 - Thursday

Rain held off today.

They added the missing window and door in the breakfast nook.  Look at all that light!

Week 6 - Wednesday

Started putting the ceilings up, got about half the rooms done, including the two bedrooms with trey ceilings.

Supposed to rain the next two days, so we'll see what they can do.

8 days to go for baby.  Still only 1 cm dilated this week.  Got some cloth diapers today to try out when baby arrives.

Finished putting up the interior walls today and also got some basement stairs.

They got more of the interior walls up; all except master bed, bath and hall bath.  Looking good !

This side isn't quite right.  Missing another window, for the master bath.  I got my GC (Brian) working on getting that fixed.

Week 5 - Wednesday

Put the plywood down and started to make the frames today.

Two weeks to go!  Had my last ultrasound today.  Baby is head down, healthy weight, good heart rate.  And I'm now 1 cm dilated :) 

Week 5 - Tuesday

Beautiful day to be building a house and lay in the hammock; 75 degrees, sunny and no wind. 

 Layed the floor joists today.

Week 5 - Monday

Got the lumber dropped off today so they can start laying the floor tomorrow.

Week 4 - Friday

Today we got a garage floor poured.  Have to keep the dogs off of here until it dries.  Stay tuned next week; we start building up!!

Week 4 - Thursday

Rained on our fresh concrete, but just have a little standing water.  Today they put in the steel beams.

Week 4 - Wednesday

We have a concrete basement floor now!  Takes about a week to dry/set, so won't have much happening for rest of the week.

Week 4 - Tuesday

Lots of planning and organizing done today for the house.  Workers were here preparing the basement for concrete coming tomorrow.  Changed planned electrical service to make more efficient (& save money).  Getting a local bid for water and septic hookup. 
Site doesn't look any different, so no picture update.

Week 4

No work on the house today- not sure why, beautiful weather.  The inspector did come out today and everything good on his end. 

We had a beautiful baby shower yesterday and received just about everything we need to bring home baby (3 weeks, 3 days to go!).  Thank you to everyone who came, all the gifts and especially to Mom, Lana and Jodi- the wonderful hosts who put in a lot of work.  (And to Dad for preparing the house).  I'm having a few contractions daily, but hoping she(?) stays put for another couple weeks :)

Week 3 - Thursday

Today the excavator came out again to do the backfill and put more gravel under the garage and front porch.  Also got the plumbing roughed-in in the basement.
