4 month check-up

No work on the house today.  Audrey went for her 4 month check-up today.  She weighs 14lbs 5oz (50th percentile) and is 24.5in long (50th percentile).  She is perfect :)  She really did not care for those shots today and did a lot more screaming than last time.  She said she wanted her own room for her four monthversary!

Week 25 - Monday

I think the only thing done to the house while we were gone last week was the hanging of the towel bars/rings, robe hooks and toilet paper holders.  Lots of activity today.  All of the appliances were installed, except the microwave (due to error in cabinet size - no eta of when that will be fixed).  The water system was installed, which will filter and soften water.  Brian and his Dad dug trenches to bury drain tiles.  

Carpet coming Wednesday, inspector coming Thursday, move in on Saturday!

Vacation Wednesday

We got rained on at the beach this morning, but it was a light rain and didn't last long, so we stuck it out under the umbrella.  We went to Nascar speedway in the afternoon and only got to ride once, as it was a long wait in line and HOT.  Then we tried to go to the waterpark in the evening because they were doing special pricing, but everyone else in the state thought the same thing, so we decided to go back and swim at the pool instead.

Audrey is indifferent of the ocean but does like the pool.  Here's a video of her getting dunked (its not in focus - someday we'll figure out the camera)

Aunt Michelle got all the girls matching swimsuits.  We tried to get them all together for a picture and I don't think we could've found bigger divas!  They look so cute!

North Myrtle Beach!

After a very long car ride, in which Audrey did awesome, we made it to the beach.  First day is going well.  We played in the ocean for a while and then went grocery shopping and then to the pool.  Nap time now; doesn't take much to get tuckered out here.

Week 23 - Wednesday

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly...

The good: ADT finally made it out today to install the alarm system
The bad: they didn't bring the outdoor speaker we need.

The good: the dumpster was finally picked up so the water guy can come out to install our softener system
The bad: they don't have a part and won't be able to install until a week from Monday.

The good: the contractor will install all our towel racks and tp holders if we buy them
The bad: the cabinet over the microwave is completely wrong and they have to make a whole new cabinet to fit.
The really, really ugly: it will take 4-6 weeks for that cabinet!  Aaghhhhh!

The good: I have a wonderful, healthy family, a good job and only 1 1/2 more days till the beach!  It's all about perspective :)

Week 23- Tuesday

The heating and AC guy was out late in the day yesterday, despite his dad just passing away.  He was fixing the AC unit - that makes a loud clunk when it turns off and putting the vent covers on.  Nothing exciting to take picture of.  I tried to upload a video of Audrey rolling over, but that did not work.  Darn! It was cute!

Week 23 - Monday

One guy was out today doing something, not sure what.  The fridgerator and microwave are closer to their final destination.  That's about all I could find different.  I may just be getting impatient, but I think the Keebler elves could build a house faster than this!

On the plus side, I am only 4 work days away from the beach !!

Week 22 - Sunday

The men were busy again today.  Painted the garage and sanded our dining room table so it can be re-stained.

Week 22 - Friday/Saturday

Rain...finally!!

Mom & Dad were back again this week while I was on-call.  In addition to Mom's usual cooking, cleaning, laundry work, she has been recovering chairs that we will use at the breakfast table.  And Dad has helped with that plus sanding our dining room table so we can re-stain it.  We are very grateful for our cheap labor :)  Thank you!

On Friday the plumber was back finishing his work and the electricians were here until after 10pm finishing up.  Everything looks good.  I'll post some pictures of it tomorrow.  We're getting really close!

Week 22 - Thursday

No work has been done to the house the past two days.  Except Brian putting the covers on his speaker outlets.

So Audrey may or may not've rolled over for the first time today.  She actually did, twice, but since I wasn't home to see it, I am denying that it happened so I can't quit my job to be home for all of her firsts :)

Week 22 - Tuesday

The contractor was out this morning cleaning some things up and the bricklayer was back doing some touch-ups.  The shower door and mirror man was out measuring.

Week 22 - Monday

The plumber was out today for the first time and nearly finished with all his work.  He was sent the wrong faucet so that is the only thing that we are waiting on for him.  All the showers, sinks and toilets are hooked up and working.  Some of the appliances have been moved into the house, but not hooked up yet. 

The trim carpenter was here putting on doorknobs and built the stairs to the garage door.  Also put in the wire shelves in all the closets.

Week 21 - Saturday/Sunday

The electricians were out here on Saturday this week putting up more of the light fixtures and changing out the switches to the dimmers.

We had a nice time with the family this weekend.  Audrey got to meet several members of her extended family and had a sleepover with cousins Charlie and Emilee. 

Week 21 - Friday

One guy was out working today.  Nothing exciting to take a picture of.  He did some caulking and fixed the garage door opening.  That's all I could find.  The shelving for the closets is in the garage and ready to be installed.

Week 21 - Thursday

The contractor was here this morning, but no work done.  We complained that the air conditioner couldn't seem to keep up, runs nonstop, and makes a very loud clunking noise when it shuts off.  So he was here looking at that.  Our electric bill for just the new house was $180!!!

We learned that there will be many workers out here on Monday and by the end of Tuesday everything except carpet, mirrors and shower doors will be done.  The carpet is "special order" and won't be in for 2 weeks.  And the mirrors and shower doors will also take two weeks (and are, of course, over budget).  

Really good news; may be in before we leave for vacation! 

Went to the 4th of July parade yesterday.  Audrey was all smiles until the loud trucks started honking their horns at the end.

Daddy and Audrey came to visit me at work today and Audrey got comfortable sitting in my chair.  She kept saying, amputate...

Then we met Lacy and the gang at Gig's for lunch.  Audrey's first time in a bar.

Week 21 - Tuesday

The painters finished with their work and hung all the doors up.  And we got a nice surprise of countertops!  They look awesome!  Nothing stopping us now! - except the holiday :)

Week 21 - Monday

Painters were back again today.  They got Audrey's room and our bedroom painted.  Started on the master bath and dining room, but didn't finish.

3 months old!

Our little girl is three months old now.  Can't believe how big she is getting.  She has about grown out of her crib, bathtub and many outfits.
