16 months

Audrey is nearly 16 months, but just got to the doctor for her 15 month check.  She is 50% for weight, 24% for height.  Got more shots but did well.  She understands a lot, but still isn't talking much.  She is consistently sleeping through the night now (finally!).  She really likes trying on shoes, but only if they are too big for her, and loving on her stuffed animals.  She has 6 teeth.  Becoming a bit of a picky eater and will only eat if she can do it herself.

 

5 weeks to go until baby #2 arrives!  Went to doctor this week - she is head down now.

Home again

We got home from vacation and found the garden twice the size as when we left.  So decided to try some of it out.

 

 

Audrey helped picked some - she smashed the tomatoes - I don't think they are ripe yet though.

 

 

And this is what it made.  Brian and I don't usually eat peppers or onions, but they tasted good knowing they came straight from the ground.

Friday

Today we saw an abundance of wildlife.  We were lounging in one of the tide pools and Tim noticed a stingray, then while going to look at that, we noticed fins that belonged to a shark- about 2ft long.  He couldn't get out until the tide came back in, so we had quite a good time trying to catch it- we didn't succeed, though Tim did grab its tail right before he screamed like a girl and ran :)

After Tim's gang left, we climbed the St. Simons Island Lighthouse - 129 steps, and took a walk out on the pier, where we saw a pod of dolphins.  Then went exploring the north end of the island, took a nature walk - saw a squirrel ;)

Wednesday

This morning we went to the beach, took a looooong nap, then went in the pool, then rode bikes to eat dinner.  It was a good weather day, but Brian and I are nursing our sunburns.

She tried on Aubree's swim vest.  It was a little big still but she enjoyed it.  She also likes going underwater now, but always expects to be caught- no swimming for this girl.

St. Simons Island

We are enjoying our vacation at St. Simons Island, Georgia this week.  It did rain on us Sunday at the beach and in the morning on Monday.  Went to the water park today and had a good time- though Brian and I got a little burnt.  We rented bikes- they have a lot of bike trails on the island.  Rode to the south end of the island for ice cream tonight.

Relay for Life

We participated in the New Lenox Relay for Life Friday night.  We got stuck in traffic on 55 getting there, so arrived late, but Audrey enjoyed running around on the football field.

Apparently I made a very boring dinner the other night; first time she's fallen asleep while eating.

July 4th holiday

We've had a wonderful July 4th holiday.  Brian's family came over on the 3rd- happy birthday Darren.  Mom and Dad came that night to help out while I'm on-call and Brian worked.  They did a lot of work outside beautifying the plants and garden.  Mike, Jodi and the kids came down on the 4th to camp out and we went to a parade.  Audrey loved the horses and stealing Charlie's candy. 

 

Brian borrowed the neighbor's tractor to mow the field.  He took me for a ride on his Big Green Tractor :)

Weekend with family

Since Daddy was working all weekend, Audrey and I drove north to hang out with the family.  It was a beautiful weather weekend, but not warm enough to go to the pool.

Colorado vacation

Audrey and I ditched Daddy and traveled with Gma and Gpa to Colorado for a family reunion.  We had beautiful weather, nice resort and good company.
