5 months old and goodbye to a good dog

Mr Sam is 5 months old now.  He is still spoiled as ever and has an amazing talent of never being put down.  Also a bit fussy, but his smiles are worth it.  I think he may be a giant as he is roughly 19lbs now.  He is a great sleeper at night and a bit lazy and won't roll over as he should be now, but I think that's because he doesn't spend much time on the floor.  We drove through the night coming home from vacation and this guy slept almost the entire way - never cried.

Sam got a new paint-job in his room.  No more pink diamonds.

While on vacation, we had to make the sad decision to put Ellie May down.  She had been limping for several weeks and the vet said it was a pulled muscle.  The boarder was concerned that she wasn't moving much and seemed to be in pain, so she went back to the vet and think she had bone cancer.  She was in so much pain, we couldn't wait until we got back.  So we are missing our Ellie-Bellie and had to explain that to the girls.  She was a good dog.  I don't know about her beginning but like to think the second half of her life was pretty sweet.  Lots of room to run, all kinds of things to howl at, friends to play with, dirt to dig.   Goodbye Ellie May.

The ups and downs of vacation

We are generally having a great time on vacation.  Staying positive despite some bad luck.  First, my kids do not take a vacation from waking up in the night.  Sam woke at 3am the first night with gas, Audrey woke at 3am the second night to vomit and Evelyn woke at 1am last night with a cough.  Audrey, and just recently Brian, are suffering from a GI bug.  We waited 1 hr 20 min for dinner last night and then got rained on while eating.  And some not-so-awesome people in our condo complex broke a whole lotta glass in and around the pool last night so we haven't been able to use it and not sure if we will again.
But on the flip side.  The weather has been great (minus 20 minutes of rain last night), we are spending  a lot of quality time with family and friends, the fireworks show was awesome and I'm not at work - so this vacation is a success :)

The beach was extremely crowded Sunday and Monday and not at all today.

Took a family picture that turned out great

This guy is adorable

Cool Evelyn and honorary family member, giraffe.

Vacation!!!!

We are on vacation!  Woo-hoo!
Before the beach, we spent days in the car.  Spent the night in Tennessee and Brian wanted to stop at the Bass Pro Shops.  Huge store, pretty neat.
Looking at their fish

Brian teaching the girls to shoot.

Made it to the beach! ...and went to the pool.

Audrey jumping off the side.

The girls love to swim in the pool.  Audrey is watching all her cousins that can swim and wants to be like them, so she is getting braver about going under water.  Evelyn is content with her floatie and was pretty hesitant about the ocean.  Loves the sand, but no running/jumping into the waves like her sister.  Sam was pretty content sitting in the waves and the pool - as long as I'm holding him.
