Ghosts

Something broke into our house in the middle of the night last night.  It opened the door and let the dogs in from the garage.  After examing the garage door, turns out Victor is smarter than he looks and figured out that enough paws at the handle and it will open.  And who needs cats, Molly killed a mouse tonight.

First game of the season is underway.  Audrey and Grandpa have their Illini gear on.

5 months old!

Audrey is 5 months old now.  She is one beautiful girl!

Weekend recap

My weekend started early since I took Friday off work.  Mike and Mom came down to help move the rest of the stuff out of the old house and other things around the house.  Audrey then went swimming at the pool.  Tolerated it for about 40 minutes and then started screaming. 

Saturday was Pet Adoption and Awareness Day at the bank.  Audrey saw a lot of cute doggies, but we left empty-handed. Then we went back to the pool with cousins Charlie and Emmy.  Audrey decided she'd sleep this time around.  No rest for the weary, we no sooner got home and left again for the demolition derby at Route 66 Raceway.  Not a great place to take a baby due to the noise, but Audrey liked all the action around her.

Sunday started with playtime with Charlie, Daniel and Emmy.  Then back home to see Daddy!  Off again to Grandma and Grandpa Taylor's so mom and dad can have dinner with friends Dave and Lacy.

Finally finished!

So the contractor has been out the past 2 days finishing up all the little things.  We got our microwave and appropriately-sized cabinet installed.  The bricklayer came back to patch some holes.  The electricians were here hooking up power to the outbuildings.  Plus a few smaller fixes that Brian made sure were done.  I think we are officially done!  Bring on the mortgage payment!

This is our secret path in the field.  The weeds are 2 feet taller than me, so if you use your imagination, it feels like your walking in the forrest. 

And at the far end of the field, it opens to a nice grassy area.  This is where they took the dirt to put around the house; took the weeds too, I guess.
