Audrey is 3!

Audrey had a great birthday today.  We had family and friends over for pizza, presents and cake.  She played all day long.  When she laid down for her nap, she asked, 'when I wake up, will it still be my birthday?'  But she decided napping was cutting into her special day, so skipped that.

the weekend

After 30-some years, I have gotten my first new set of bedroom furniture.  Makes our big room seem a little small and, surprisingly, all our stuff fits!

 

We got a visit from Mike, Jodi and kids this weekend.  Audrey and Emmy played beautifully together, which is good because in 1 month they will be each other's company at the beach :)

Grand Bear Lodge and woos of sleeping

Last weekend we went to Grand Bear Lodge to their indoor waterpark and amusement center.  Audrey had a great time in the water and Evelyn enjoyed herself the first day, but decided two days in a row was too much. 

 

I also wanted to put some pictures on here to remind myself that though sleep is rare, it does happen sometimes. 

This is usually how the night end, both girls in our bed.

Happy Valentine's Day!

The girls had a party at daycare on Friday.  Audrey is super-excited about her box of valentines (and candy).  They wore their outfits from G&G Taylor.

 

 

While Daddy was working on Saturday, the girls and I went to lunch with Great-Grandpa Stevens.  Evelyn's mood is very up and down now.  Discovered she is getting four new teeth.

Snowmobiles, zoo and fondue!

We got a fondue set for our wedding, 4 years ago, and decided to try it out last night.  Evelyn was concerned and preferred to just eat the fruit plain.  Audrey liked it. 

 

We decided to play in the snow before it melted.  Audrey got her first snowmobile ride and loved it!

We also visited the world's smallest zoo yesterday (according to Brian); Miller Park in Bloomington.  Audrey's favorite was the aquarium with the colorful, tropical fish.  Evelyn's favorite was the concrete steps. 

17 months old

Evelyn is 17 months old now.  She is a lot of fun.  She has a big smile and is really getting into books and babies.  Her vocabulary is just now starting to expand, finally saying "mama", although still has to be asked, won't say is spontaneously.  "Daddy" - no problem; "mama" gets no respect.

Ever since Evelyn moved to a regular mattress, she is finding many places to fall asleep that are not her bed. 

This is my favorite.  Last night, tucked between two walls, the chest and her horse. 

Thanks, Mom, for staying all week last week while I was on-call.   You are awesome!
