Week 16 - Friday

Lots! of workers and vehicles here today.  Apparently it was quite a site.  They dug some holes and a very large trench to re-route the water line.  That turned out to be a huge mess because they ran into a couple field tiles and cut through some electrical wires that supply the garage.  Which meant the water and power were shut off to our house for a while till they fixed it.  And the large hole by the spout will remain there until we turn the water off to this house. 

The bricklayer got his shipment of brick and put a nice ledge around the back porch as well as continuing to work on the back of the house. 

The electricians were here pulling wires through.

We have an air conditioner now.

More tile was put in the master shower.

Most of the wood floor was layed.

I'm sure I'm forgeting something.  Good to see so many people working!

Week 16 - Thursday

They were able to lay the wood flooring in the hallway and dining room.  Also got a lot of the tile up in the master shower.  Looks really cool!

Mom had a good day with Audrey.  So far she has done the laundry, made dinner past two nights, rearranged Audrey's clothes, recovered a bench, mended a pillow, working on recovering four chairs and played 267 games of Words with Friends.  I wonder how she'll keep busy tomorrow?

And we have another mouse.  It ate my apple which was in my lunch bag sitting on the counter.

Week 16 - Wednesday

Miss Audrey went to the doctor today for a 2 month check-up.  Which means she got her first set of shots :(  Three shots and one oral vaccine all together.  She only cried for a little while and then we put a boob in her mouth and that seemed to make things better :)

Seemed to be lots of work done on the house today judging by all the cars.  The bricklayer didn't get his shipment of bricks, but did get some more work done on the fireplace.  The electricians were here doing something? in the basement.  They started laying hardwood floors but didn't get far as they found they didn't have the right tools.  And tilework continued with tile going on the shower walls in the guest bath.  Looks good but since there is no light in there, I couldn't get a picture. 

We got a approximate date of completion of 6 weeks from now - middle of July?

Week 16 - Tuesday

More tile work today.  They put the grout in all the bathrooms and put the tile down in the mudroom.  The bricklayer was out again and used every last brick he had.  We are promised a delivery of more brick tomorrow so he can finish - finally.  They also put in the roof vent.  Our appliances were delivered, but have to hold them in the shed until they are ready to install.  The boxes look pretty...

First day back to work today.  I was so busy, I only got caught up thinking about Audrey a few times.  But everyone asked about her.  And I kept my pictures handy to show off.  Daddy enjoyed his day with Audrey; went into town, got some laundry done - maybe ready for full-time Mr. Mom?  My beautiful child slept 8 hours straight last night; it was like she knew I needed a good night's sleep. 

Memorial Day

We had a good weekend- despite the heat.  Went to Charlie's birthday party - jumped in the bouncy house and got in a few water fights.  Brought back yet another truck-load of furniture from Mom & Dad's basement.  I started call today and had one baby to see at the hospital this morning.  Brian's family came up to grill out and get a lesson in ping-pong by Brian and I (maybe it was home court advantage). 

I also discovered a silent roommate - almost stepped on a mouse that was trapped in the shower this morning.  My brave husband fished it out and set it free outside. 

I know Audrey will take after her mom and love watermelon!

Week 15 - Friday

They started laying tile today and got the floors done in all 3 bathrooms (minus the grout).  Also delivered the bamboo flooring - should be ready to go on Tuesday.

Molly is earning her keep by digging out the foundation of our next house.  Not sure what she is after but she is determined to get it - darn dog!

Week 15 - Thursday

The subfloor for the tile went in today.  That's it.  I think they are afraid to work too fast ;)

We picked out all our lighting, paint colors and carpet today.  And then we went home and sweated...
